Hello all,

I am not into tractors but my Father who knows absolutley nothing about computers just bought the above mentioned tractor. He is trying to find out as much info as possible. Numbers on the tractor are 6-9-48, 6772D & 8002-DD. I will try to post a link to pics later. any info would be much appreciated.

Thats an OS-6. an O-6 would be basically the same, except the fenders would just about cover the rear wheels and there would be flairing that went in front of the rear wheels, sometimes called batwings, to help branches flow over the rear fenders without breaking.

Probably an O-4 tractor. The serial nunber is suposed to be on an aluminum plate on the left side near the front of the trans/clutch housing. This will have a real serial # from which more info can be gained. Look in the photos to the left to find one like it. The IH Farmall forum (top of page) is more specific to that tractor. JimN

He says the engine is bigger than the 04. He has an Farm All ( sp ) H and the engine is larger than that one.

Then the next one up would be an O-6 or OS-6. Alot of people think the W- series is also an orchard and call them that without knowing it. The numbers you posted are part numbers. There should be a tag on the clutch housing on the clutch pedal side of the tractor, if not, the engine will have the number on a flat sufrca on the block, just below the #1 spark plug. There a several pictures in the Tractor Photo section of these, or there were.
