Benny,

I love Big blocks can you tell by the pic?

You will have to get big block motor mounts, roughly an 1" shorter. You can use the small block moutns, the motor will just sit a little higher.

Tall decks, commonly called truck blocks (not from a truck, but a 366 or 427) have a 0.400" taller deck height, pistons are unique with an extra ring. And of course, its the nice super strong 4 bolt block. The have tiny intake runners, which are great for low end torque that you are after. Bad for us hi-rev drag racers.

About the only things that are not shared with the common passenger car big block are the intake and the distributor.

These motors use to be quite the find for us drag racers. You could sell the crank to buy a stroker crank and have quite a motor just had to scrap those "peanut port" heads. They are not as common anymore.

Oh your gas mileage question...
Worse than the small block empty, better than the small block with a load since it won't lug the engine as hard.

Keep a gas station in site!!!!!
