it's 40 degrees in central Va. today and not that great it's better in S.Carolina in winter. Winter temperatures in Charleston in January average 59 the leaves don't even fall of the trees it's beautiful. move back for summer though.

As I get older , I sometimes wish for warmer climates...Got too much family up here in the snow belt of Ohio to leave....The Mack snowplow truck I drive would miss me too !! Last month we got blasted good..On a heavy plow day I can average about 125 miles and go through about 45 gallons of fuel...

Go to Tractor Photos on this website. Look up the TWO HORSE POWER photo. That's north Louisiana in early February. Real nice weather.

As bad as the North Country winters are, at least we don't get the torricanes and hurnadoes they way they do in Florida, and who can stand the humidity of a Carolina summer?

Are you looking for a place to buy, or do you just want to get away for a few months? Seasonal rentals are available here in Pinellas Co. Florida

Loren - where abouts are in in pinellas county? Grandparents had a place in a trailer park for their winter home for years. Sunset Palms I think - not too far from that big bridge. I knew that when we were crossing it we, we were almost there.

Largo / Indian Rocks Beach area. I live in a 55+ mobile park on the intercoastal waterway, and also have a rental unit in this same park. If you want more info, I opened my e-mail.

Lots of land for sale here in Baker County FL since the timber companies sold out. I would rather a dirt farmer got some of it than a land developer!

We are really southern GA as our brethren further down state say. Prices range from $3K-10K per acre depending on where you buy.

Macclenny is county seat and the county is aggressively pursuing building restrictions to retain the small town charm of the area.

I live in Sanderson and as I am Sr. Mgmt for IT I commute to Jacksonville (Jax). Land in Jax is spendy but it depends on what you want - acreage or lot. I would really like to work in Lake City but no luck so far.

Maybe we can get a few guys together and buy a hundred acres and split it up

I agree with Stew, lowest it got here this winter was in the mid 30's a couple of nights. Usually in the 50's during the day December through Feb, already in the 80's now!

We had several nights in the 20's,froze the tops of the Citrus and the Prickly Pear, a lot of them broke off or at least shed some Pads. lots of mid 30 nights in Jan/Feb. But now we are seeing mid to upper 70's and maybe 80' today. Outside Tomatoes are doing good. From Out in the Country near Wickenburg AZ.John

here in SW tenn. it was 38 at 4 this mornin'. it's 50 now and i been sitting in the sun on my front porch drinkin' coffee. gonna be about 70 later today.

january was warm this year like alot of places, but we had an unusually cold spell in feb. that lasted most of the month with only a couple warm ups. only a dusting of snow all winter on this side of the state.

noticed the first dandelion last week, that's my own personal beginning of spring. had daffodils in january. gonna be tillin' up the garden anytime now to start planting. but one word of warning....if you can't stand hot and humid, you ain't gonna like the summer here.

Keep rubbing it in you..... :) we had 0 yesterday morning here in Michigan, high of 18.Was 10 this morning with several inches of new snow. They say it could be high 40s next week if it wasn't for the 25 feet or so of snow on the ground. Kidding of course, just seems like that much. Inlaws live in Ky. We've left here in late March, early April before with snow on the ground, got there and they were mowing grass and the red buds were in bloom. I don't know why on Gods green earth we are still running cattle up here instead of down there where we belong.
