Darnit!

Fought this bugger for 30 minutes before I figured out that the company had sent me the wrong belt. Luckily, I had another.

Lady who answered the phone said that even tho the salesmen were all busy at the time she could sure take the order and right off the bat I'm shorted a one condenser motor.

Yeah, right. What else is gonna go wrong before I get this beast blowing cold air?

Hope I'm wrong, but this weather is acting just like last year. Winter straight to summer and no spring. Pass the rain please.

The ones back east will disagree winter is gone with their white stuff yet but spring started too early in February and now seems like summer with 84º & 86º over weekend. Too warm too early for sure so hope the cooler is blowing soon. Suppose to be chance of rain everyday this week? Haven't seen it yet but guess they can only be wrong a few times when it doesn't rain that way? Allan we use to get Redmond motors from that surplus place in your state and those are good motors for condensers but sometimes they are out of them and that's the only kind I'll order if they can get me that brand. Otherwise just stop by the local truck place and see what they have to match up in any brand but the cheap motors never last.

I "think" I'm good to go on the parts now.

Was out feeding the other day and I hadn't put freon in that big tractor yet. All that glass was sure kickin' on the sweat. :>)

Yep, we're showing signs of "dry" already. Going to get another baler this morning and hope to gosh I've something to bale this year. :>(

Yep already seen those nasty color circles in wheat here. Drying out and bugs out already. Most are grazing wheat out or saving some for seed not figuring on haying as much but that might change depending on when and if it rains again. 4 tenths last Monday made it muddy but sure left fast. Some been watering wheat, oats, triticale already again for several weeks now to chop next month or early May.

Hey Allan, That is a project I have to look forward to in the near future. Can you tell me what you used for the condenser and how you mounted it? Are you using R-12? About how much coolant will it take to fill it the first time? I have some suggestions as to an easy condenser motor setup to look for but have not found one in the bone yard yet. Now that the snow is gone its time to start looking again. All I have so far is the condenser on the cab. I will need everything else.
Thanks

Hi Feller,

I'm putting it back just like the factory setup except for the use of R-134A freon.

Hardest part was finding those silly mounting rings/brackets for the condenser motors. IH wanted $372 for a pair the goofy things. Luckily, Migraine found me a couple of used ones out in Washington.

System will take about 3 1/2 cans of soup, I'm guessing. All parts for these systems are still available except those darned motor brackets I mentioned.

Nope, Winter into Summer and now back into Winter again. Forget the belt, you won't need it this year.
