I have parted a lot of front ends when I was in the salvage business. The best way I found to take the knee's out is to take a sledge hammer and with the front still on the tractor work the knee's forward and back. The more you move the knee's the easer they move. It don't hurt to spray the front end with WD40.

Fun ain't they? :>)

I use two tractors after soaking in panther juice for two weeks.

One to anchor the tube and the other to bump 'er loose. Doesn't matter if the front end is mounted on the tractor or not.

I would assume you could do stuck 2 point arms in this same fashion. am I correct? Could you just leave the arms mounted as they are on my 1066 and use a biggar tractor to pull the inner piece out. i haven't had need to make these move yet and thus have not messed with them but may someday. Also, it just ticks me of when something is not working like it should.

Yes Sir,

I've pulled stuck telescoping drawbars, stuck three point slides and I've done 4 or 5 of these front ends this way.

Just a matter of ovrcoming that darned rust with brute force.

On the 1486 I had the tie rods were the tightest. I wedged a 4"x4" block between the frame and the wide front and let the power steering do the work. I should have thought of that about an hour sooner!
