Phil et al -- Not to play one-upsmanship here, but we here in the Pine Tree State are being hammered by a snowstorm (it started about 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon and is still going). So far we in the central part of the state have about 15 inches of the white stuff accumulated, and it's still coming down. Other areas of the state are reporting up to 18 inches of accumulation. The ground was bare before we got this: 
Not a lot of people out on the roads, schools are closed today...

Just got in from plowing -- what a miserable job! The ground had thawed, and the snowplow wants to dig down in and throw my driveway on top of my lawn... If there had been less snow I would have just waited a day or so until it melted, but with this much snow it had to be moved... I don't ever remember getting this much snow in an April storm; closest was back in 1985, when we got six inches or so... Grandfather always used to call a spring snowstorm "poor man's fertilizer," as he claimed the snow brought nitrogen with it out of the air... Anyway, that's the situation here.
