Hi gents, I found a diesel engine I want to put in a Farmall H for modified antique pulls. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for the conversion? A pic of it is below. Thanks!

Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm

Good Luck, I would suggest using an M chassis instead of the H, It has a larger hood to cover the engine with.

Two of those will make as much power as the boilers in an Iowa class battle ship. If those ships were ever re-fitted it wouldn't it make sense to scrap the boilers/engines and swap in those 102 rpm brutes. No extensive training as stationary engineers, fast power up & improved fuel efficiency.

Rumor has it that Ford is dumping Navistar and is going to put this monster in their F-Series after recent difficulties with the management at Navistar.

I should probably be cafeful about what I say! My comment might end over on that dieselstop website and be construed as gospel. LOL

Sure it will fit. Done one when I was in the Navy.
The only issue you have is that the starter motor wont fit. You have to hand crank it.

hey mike - with 102 RPMs I think you would do better in a Slow race. :)

Here's the secret... in reply to Jim in Ma., 04-17-2007 07:22:59
The secret is in how you gear it. With the right gearing, that 102 rpm won't be a problem...but deciding what tires to use on the H might be.

I know your kidding, but that would be an ambitious project. Wouldn't you have a little more room in an A JD. Just think, there is probably a whole tractors' worth of iron in one of those pistons or rods. Where's the crank?, and how big of a radiator will you need?
