Put the loader on it today.

Now we'll test out that tractor.

Gary how do like that Allied loader. I bought two of them because of the thickness of the metel they were built out of. One I got in 96 and the other last year. They are good loaders. Plus I got a really good deal on both. A friend of mine is a dealor and let me have them at his cost. I did have to drive to Louisville to pick up the first one and to Clarksville Indiana for the latter one, they moved the warehouse across the river.

That outfit sure ought to do the trick.

The bottom trunion(sp) on the steer cylinder was gone.(:~})

Put a new set in it yesterday.

How do the hydraulics work under that loader?

I had no way of testing, but they sure seemed responsive enough.

Sorry 'bout the trunion. I should have spotted that bad boy.

Wasn't your job to fix the steering.

The hydraulics seem strong so far. We will find out on hay tomorrow.

Lifts the loader right up when empty at low idle.

I was really quite concerned when I swapped my loader over on to the little Hydro 70. Was scared to death that it was going to end up being one of those "slow" response things.

Was pleasantly surprised when it operates every bit as fast as the 1066. Guess, come to think of it, they use the same silly pump tho. :>)

Yes the 06,56,66,86,88 (including the hydro 70 & 100 and 544)through to the Case/IH series all came with really good hydraulic systems. My dad's 504 even had a really good hydraulic system. 12,17 and 23gpm come to mind for the 56-86's. They also had some of the highest 3point lift specs better than Deere, Ford, etc. One farmer purchased a 3pt hitch planter with fertlizer hoppers and his big John Deer couldn't lift it. Tried it on a IH and it picked it right up. His green fram started turning red.

Be careful though I changes a metal hose out for a smaller diamater rubber hose on my 686 and the speed decreased with a ever so slight delay. Need to replace it with a bigger diamater hose of a greater pressure rating. Possibly return to pipe for most of the run from the diverter valve to the spools by the seat.

For sure,

I don't think a guy can get away with anything less than 1/2" lines on these older tractors.

The newer rigs run at a heck of a lot higher pressure so they all seem to use the 3/8" stuff.

ROPS are mandatory on the new ones but not the ones sold before the law took affect.

I may put one on this 1066 however.

Bad part is getting into low buildings where I want to store hay.

Hey Gary,

Maybe Dave will sell you that one off the little Massey that he just bought. The freight across the pond might be a stinker tho. :>)

Yes and No.

To cold and wet to plant but been doing a little tillage work so when it warms I can just plant.

Thats why I switched the loader to the 1066 so I can use the 1086 on the sprayer.

I finished planting oats yesterday.

Everyone plants to few of oats to own there own drill so I custom drilled oats for 4 differant guys. But only totaled 100 acres all together.

Next week on the corn. Maybe???
