hey guys, im restoring a john deere b and i coming up close to the end. right now im replacing all the gaskets and seals in the rear end. the problem is that i can figure out how to get the 3pt system unkooked so i can take off the basic housing to replace that big gasket behind it. do i need to take the big square shaft out then unhook the arm that connects to the lifting piston? as always and help is very much apreciated. thanks again jonathan s in northern pa

Uh...if you haven't confused me yet already, you just take the 10 or so bolts that hold the whole thing onto the tractor off. You just take the whole thing off, no need to disassemble everything just to get to that big gasket. be sure to use an engine crane to lift it up, slide it back and off.
