What does everyone think of farming 800-1000 acres with one of these every years. I"m in the works of getting that much dryland (SEWY) rented and need a good cheap large tractor and I found a really clean well kept one with dang near new tires, pto, and a egging cab for 5500.

After helping wear Dad's 6030 and 4020's out as a kid, I'd strongly suggest trying to move one rung up the ladder and get something with a SoundGuard cab.

I've seen a good running 4840 (crummy paint job) sell as cheap as $7500.

That has as much power as most 6030's and it is a MUCH more comfortable cab - especially if you'll be running over that many acres...

Just my 2 cents worth...

Oh heck yeah,

800 to 1,000 acres translates into 400-500 tillable a year. You can do that standing on one leg. :>)
