Roaded the darned big tractor out to the country to go over the summer fallow while I was waiting for hay to cure.

Got out there and we've had another nice little rain. Guess all tractor work is off for this week.

Good news is that the wheat is milkin' like crazy! Might have to get that old combine out of hibernation after all. :>)

Re: O/T What would you farm on 25 acres? in reply to JBMac, 01-17-2008 07:59:21
I do a little market gardening. It's VERY labor intensive. I think it's safe to say I'll never do any more self pick market gardening. I just never dreamed what folks would do to someone elses property. Hay would be my first choice, especially if you're working off farm.

Be nice to your rat friends. Feed 'em. The smell usually goes away after just a few days.

Well that is kind of good, think that alfalfa that is down will recover, looked green on the underside ? Was curious how the part still standing was doing, amazing that it grows enough to harvest in that dry land. Soil over here is dry on top, but boy it holds moisture underneath, takes a good dryspell to cause problems.

Looks like that grain truck will get some use, can't wait to see it on the job, that is a really nice truck, with that side dump and all.
