I need ya'lls opinion on a White 2-70 Tractor.Pro's / Cons.It seems to be in pretty good shape.Asking 4700.00.Good tires, paint.Needs seat and TLC.Just have never had any dealings with this kind.Always been Farmall/Int folk in this family.Don't even know HP of tractor.Looks like it would make a good haying tractor. Please let me know good and bad.

Thanks for your input.

If your feet are big or even not so big there is not much room for them around the pedals and like in winter with big boots on there even worse. Thats the only complaint I saw with the one we used some that was stored here for awhile.

White tractors as a whole are pretty good, no frill tractors. If you can look past the flat silver paint job, they are pretty darn good tractors. The 2-70 is pry one of the best Whites ever made--as others say, its just a 1650/1655 painted silver

They have a very good reputation. My neighbor, friend has a 1655 Oliver(same thing) which he uses hard on his dairy farm. It has many hours on it and has been trouble free all those years. His is a gas model.

I ran a 4-150 for many years when i worked on a dairy farm in KS. I thought it was an awesome tractor. We used a 2-85 (I think it was) one summer when the boss' 1066 IH was in the shop. I liked running the both these tractors. I think they good tractors.

I have a White 2-70. My dad bought it new in 1977 and it has just under 3100 hours on it. Under bad advice I had the injection pump worked on when it did not need anything done to it,but,I did not know any better at the time.New battery boxes this year is all I've had to do to it.As for a haying tractor. My 2-70 runs my JD 1219 mower and NH 320 bailer with no trouble at all.
Would I get another one.If I could find one I would.

The White 2-70's are very good tractors, and are basically the same as the Oliver 1655. It should be around 70-75 HP and they are pretty nimble in the field.

I own a 1600, which became the 1650, which became the 1655, which became the White 2-70. I rebuilt the gas engine in mine with pistons & sleeves for a 1655 so it puts out probably 15-20 more HP than it did new and it's still a great tractor.
