I have owned an IH 234 hydro since new and suddenly I cannot get the hi-lo shifter into low range. In addition it also sticks at times in the hi range. Can any one help?

By now you are probably wandering if anybody will ever respond-Right! Well, I have one just like yours and it seems not to many folks do and its a little tough getting advise for these. I personally have not had the problem you are describing and if I did, I would be talking to the local IH mechanic. Does this thing set outside? If so, it may have some H2O and thus rusted in the lever/linkage area.

Thanks for the reply. My 234 is always in the garage. I suspected that the linkage may be gummed up so I power washed it today and was able to get it into lo range. Once I have used it on my driving range to move dirt I plan to take it to a dealer for complete serviceng if necessary. I am awaiting a service manual that I ordered over the net and am hoping it will give me better insight into the workings of the transmission and linkage.
