Here in western PA we have a lot of the white clover in the yards and pastures, was out get ready to mow the yards and noticed a few honey bees, next day noticed a few more in a different locations. Before seeing these honey bees all we were seeing was the very small bumble on the white clover, hope this is a sign of the return of the honey bees.

You probably have a beekeeper nearby. Pretty much all the feral colonies have been wiped out.

I've seen more this year, but could be because I've been looking.

They asked about what people have been seeing on an organic gardening board I visit (by Organic Gardening magazine -- they wanted feedback to put in an issue.)

And you could pretty well divide the responses equally into more, less, and same.

Once I saw the bees in my clover-filled lawn (I have about 2 acres I mow...) I started mowing half each week, which has left clover in continous bloom. Might not be as aesthically satisfying, but figured it wasn't a bad idea to keep them around.

Did CCD hit PA?

My hive is working pretty hard right now. The white clover seems to be one of their favorites. I feel pretty guilty when I mow the lawn, but I have to do it or I would be living in a field. The cover keeps coming back, although with the lack of rain it hasn't helped.
