After changing wrist pin bearings on Leyland 270 the pins are tight on rod[new bearing] and turn easy on pistons. Is this alright?????

If you have aluminum pistons with full floating pins they need to be able to turn in the rods. In cold weather the pistons will contract enough that the pins will be siezed in the pistons. If they cannot turn in the rods you run the risk of breaking the pin bosses out of the pistons in these conditions.

A full floating pin should have about .0002 clearance in the rod at room temperature. The fit can be checked by coating the pin and bushing with 30 weight oil. Insert the pin in the bushing. Hold the rod so that the pin is verticle and it should slowly drop out of the bushing. If it does not move it is too tight. If it drops right out before it is verticle it is too loose.

did u have the bearing in rod machined to spec after it was pressed in? i dont know anything about a leyland but if it has full floating type wrist pins then it will turn in both rod and piston. if the pin is held in by snap rings then chances are its full floating
