The main differance between off road and on road fuel is not the amount of sulfer in the fuel, they are all LSD, most likely to be replced by ULSD, the main differance is the taxes, on road pays all the taxes, the off road does not pay any of taxes

As I already said - it's not that way everywhere yet. Here in New York, at the moment, off road and farm fuel is high sulfur heating oil - all comes from the same tank and is dyed the same color. This is changing soon.

Depends where you live. Right now, in New York, off-road and farm diesel is still high sulfur heating oil. But, in a few months they will be separated - and heating oil will still be high sulfur dyed red, but off-road and farm will be dyed a new color and be ultra low sulfur.

Nothing other than the fuel, tractor & exhaust won't stink.

Man, you're right about the stink! I just started using the off road this year as I only use about 20-30 gallons of diesel in any given year. I also add sea-foam to it. It stinks like crazy, totally different smell from road diesel.
