I believe there're nice little writeups on Dave Friday and Jacob Love in gas engine magazine archives articles available on their website (at least they were 6-8 months ago). Friday's supposed to be the one who started using the 2-spds, which should--repeat: should--be Dodge truck ( my Motor Truck manuals don't show a Dodge 2-spd, stating the two-spds Dodge used are Timken and Eaton, so of the two I would guess the Timken) (my understanding of the Eaton's is they were more an option than original eqpmt, but I could be wrong). I believe that's the piece that says after 48 Friday used only Chry Cptn running gear, but sources differ whether Friday started using them when working for or working with Love, or being Love's son-in-law (sources differ on almost everything about this story, from the inception of the original 1935/6 CO-OP down thru Custom, Lehr, Wards exc twin-row, Jumbo, Simpsons Jumbo,Love, Friday, Amos O's OMC, Closson, Wilson, the canadians: Rockol, Regal, Norseman plus ???)...
