We have a couple 1850 Ollies(same as Cockshutt 1850)) .Great 100 horse tractors.

Make sure the PTO works OK.Check to see if the shaft stops turning while engine running and nothing hooked up,and make sure the handle snaps into the on position. It should also snap when disengaging.

We bought 4 1850's. Two gassers and two diesels and only one PTO worked. The othes needed clutch steels/fibers and release collars.Gets spendy. ~brad

Good tractors, freind of mine has 3 cocksutts, 1850 fwa,2150 fra, and a 2050 fwa, all with fender tanks. He paid $10,000 a peice to add to his collection of 50 series aliver FWA's. They will pull and pull, and pull.

Never owned one, never even been on one... But they have my vote for one of the meanest looking tractors made. Especially with fender tanks and front wheel assist hangin on em.
I do have a massey with a perkins in it, nice starting, nice running deisel..
If you get it post some pics. Good luck BW

I have one and they are great tractors, the perkins is easy on fuel, good power & parts are available through AGCO & aftermarket, same as the Oliver 1850.

Sorry, Forgot to mention the only weak point I can think of is the brakes.

Well, I posted before you put this pic up. So it looks like you are the proud owner of a cool looking machine....
Weak brakes??? Is that why you have the loader angled toward the ground???
