The GP has a flathead engine with valves in the block.

Do You Mean GP as in General Purpose, many of the unstyled models said that on the side of the hood?

There was a GP model. Watch Green Acres. The one that Oliver is driving when the show first come on is a JD GP. The other one on the show is a Hoyt Clagwell which is really a Fordson.

The JD GP was a smaller version of the "D". They were narrower and smaller horse power.

If you look on the left of this page under seriel numbers you willfind the GP I was talking about. John Deere made them from 1928 until 1935 and I drove my uncles GP a few times.

I KNOW what a "GP" is, and it is QUITE different from a "D", as it is a "flat head". WHAT point are you trying to make????

I don't want to be a pest but if you look in a book by Peter Henshaw called (The Complete John Deere} on page 20 that is the PG I am talking about.
