farmall 400 pto

My pto does not work on my farmall 400. I took the spec. cover off and adjusted it but it still wont work. Is there something broken or wore out, or do i just not know what im doing.

I got it to work now it was the turn off under the tractor. When I took the bolt out to move the lever gear oil came out and kept coming is there suppose to be oil in there? I am only 16 so I am still learning about theses tractors.

Not that familiar with the 400,but had a 706 for a while. Shut off the PTO cutting hay and it wouldn't restart. There was a pin broken that pulled up on a valve inside.

There is a seasonal dis-connect under the tractor, just in front of the transmission. It is a remote possibly that it is unhooked.

A number of years ago while copping corn my 400 PTO started jumping out after repeated adjustment it finally quit all together, apon removal and disassembly I found that the planetary gear shafts had worn to the point I had to replace that assembly. Just a thought, good luck.
