OK, just call me an idiot but I have been looking at and wanting to buy a farmall c tractor just for the heck of it. Probably ride it around the neighborhood a couple times a year and some where down the road it will end up sitting in the garage for years to come. What should I look out for when buying one since I know absolutely nothing about a tractor.
Thanks for your help

Farmall C built from '48-'51 had a 113ci engine. Super C followed from '51-54 with a 123 cu engine which added about 5 more HP (23.7 belt and 20.7 drawbar).Serial # for C had a prefix of FC. Super C = FSC. Both had touch control hydraulics. Make sure the hydraulics work. Your main problem might be hooking implements on to it because International used a hitch that accomodated their implements but not the three point. Three point became the industry standard some years later and a tractor really should have it. After market three point hitches are available but expensive. Difficult to build one for a Farmall. Woods has some neat belly mount mowers for older tractors and it's fairly common to see one on a C. They are bullet proof little tractors.

Good tires, good brakes, good wiring. If you find one with a good battery box and it is still there then maybe you have fiund a tractor someone took care. Check out the steering. Drive it down the road and make sure it handles well.
