I have a 1950 Model B. The cast wheels have the usual four rectangular slots. They also have four round holes cast into them. I have seen both in photos of restored tractors. The round holes do not show up in the owners or parts cataloges. Were these factory original or after market? Did the round holes serve any special purpose?

Late 50 is when to extra 4 holes appeared. Our 1950 "A" has them. The question of what they are for has been posted on these forums before, and I have yet to see a reasonable answer to their purpose.

The round holes you are refering to were standard equipment on the 51 and 52 A"s, B"s, and G"s. Could be that they were changed out at some time with another tractor, or maybe even your tractor is just past the SN breaking point where they began using them. Have fun with it what ever the reason for those wheels is.

JD. I meant to post this on the JD only discussion board. I like them all, no matter the color. I have a restored H Farmall and a B JD. Wish I had more.
