I use our TV for L/stock prices the analog version of reception is spotty meaning the report is blurred or sometimes unreadable, along comes HD High Definition TV , there are lots of HD broadcasts in our area but my new Digital TV wont receive the signal , its still receiving in analog . This is an air to air antenna but capable of receiving HD , far superior viewing, There are a lot of knowhow high tech people out there , does anyone know how I can get my TV to receive these HD signals.I know this is a (local) question but TV reception is the same signals? wherever you live , not to be confused with cable or satellite.

There's no such thing as an HD antenna. Any antennae can pick up HD. I just got a $60 one from Radio Shack, put it on a 20' mast I got from the lumber yard (Sutherland's) and it works great. An HD TV can actually pick up more channels than a non-HD set, on the same antenna. BTW, I'm pleasantly surprised at the number of good HD channels (and content) available for free. We don't miss cable or satellite a bit. Google tv antenna and you'll find a site that can help you pick an antennae, based on your area.

Thanks Kent , your advice is spot-on , I tried the local TV station for specifics , but did not get what I needed to know , We are placed in the middle of several stations , and didn't want to go with directional , the omni type , non-directional is what I was looking for.The only thing I am trying to figure , the local station broadcasts in analog and three different HD signals 13.1 ABC , 13.2 Fox News, 13.3 CW,TV.When I get the antenna set up I guess they will be listed in TV memory, for their various programs.

The broadcaster may not have to make the non-cable signal digital yet. Call them and ask. JimN
