I was looking into going to Geothermal Heat was wondering what you could tell me about it. I would like to know what kind of pipe field you had? And also how big of a unit you have {Ton wise} ? Thanks Mike

I have a 4 ton unit.

The recirculation water line is 1" black plastic that comes a roll.

There are 4 400' rolls.

We dug a pit 7' deep 16 foot wide and 100 foot long. The four lines are laid in there in loops so it looks like this looking from the top down.

_____ _____ _____ _____ _____ _
OOOOO OOOOO OOO_____ _____

_____ _____ _____ _____ _____ _
OOOOO OOOOO OOO_____ _____

_____ _____ _____ _____ _____ _Back to house
OOOOO OOOOO OOO_____ _____ over here

_____ _____ _____ _____ _____ _
OOOOO OOOOO OOO_____ _____

The straight lines represent the lines to and from the house 50 foot from the pit.

There are no splices outside the house each 400 foot makes acomplete circle out and back into the house.

There is a manifold to join the four lines into one in the house.

I can email pictures of the plumbing inside of the house if you would like.

Gary

Gary, I'm thinking about doing the same thing. Could you supply more details of your system. Maybe a complete schematic, equipment choices, costs, performance, etc.

Thanks! bob f.
