Things are still sleepy in the Paint and Bodywork forum so forgive me if I post this here. (Hey, it is tractor-related).

How long after painting (a tractor) with acrylic enamel should I wait before buffing it out? Also, what kind of bonnet? What would be the best buffing compound?

The prep and finish were well done and looks good, just a few dust nibs I'd rather not have.

I've got her parked in the sun (80F today). My buffer/polisher is a variable speed.

Thanks, gents!

if it had a hardner in it, wait a day or so, if not gve it a week in the sun. wetsand with 1200 or 1400 grit, and soapy water. for compounds and pads, i like the 3m perfect-it line, extra cut, then ultra, then the swirl mark remover. use the heavy wool pad for the extra cut compound, then switch pads to a lite cut for the ultra, then finish with a polishing bonnett and swirl mark remover. here are some pic;s of the products we use at the shop.
