My brother bought a new holland L555 with 2300hrs, everything seems to be in good shape the loader is real tight and everthing works as it should, just wanted some ins and outs, what kind of hydraulic oil do they run? What are the things to keep in mind about servicing these skidsteers? Thank-you in advance for all your help you guys are great. Thanks Again!!

134D or it's equivelant would be the recomended fluid I believe, but it could have just about anything other than gear oil in there....
I think the change interval is something like 500 hours (or it is on the newer machines). Just keep it greased and the oil changed and it should be fine.
You should at least get an operators manual for it. That won't break the bank and it will tell you most of the important little things you should be doing. Service manual is good if you're mechanically inclined. I wouldn't spend the money on a parts book anymore though since they have PAL online. You can get any parts breakdowns you need there and the numbers should be more up to date than the books...

go to a nh dealer and invest in a manual for tractor and you will have all of your questions answered, a very good investment.

Thanks for the info we have a manual coming, but sometimes manuals say one thing for changes and servicing and it is much better to do it more often. Some manuals do not speak for experience that people have. Thanks again!!

I bought one for my 885. Probably cost a few hundred bucks. But it has paid for itself by allowing me to troubleshoot and fix problems on the spot instead of losing downtime dragging it to the repair shop.
