I have one shoots good for plinking and small varmints really like the large 15 shot capacity i've added a 4x scope to mine for added accuracy.

If it is used shoot it first to see if it shoots straight. I have one the throws the bullet all over.

You should try a different brand of ammo through it. For some reason .22s are very particular on ammo brand. I have a Marlin bolt action .22. When I first tried it out with CCI ammo I couldn't even keep 5 rounds on a paper plate at 25 yards. I tried Winchester standard velocity, and it will put five shots in a dime sized group.

The Remington 22 pump is a nice gun but I'm not a fan of the way the barrel is attached to the receiver. Any gun that uses a scope which is attached to the receiver must have a barrel to receiver connection which is rock solid or else the bullet trajectory will be all over the place as the barrel flops around with respect to the receiver.

The Ruger 10/22 is a great gun but the first thing you will want to do is throw the stock into the wood burner and get an overcast stock with the right length pull to fit your arm length.

If you are open to a bolt action rather than a pump the Marlin bolt action with the micro-rifling is a very accurate gun so you may want to look at that one also.

I have a pair of older ones and I really like 'em, one open sight and one with a wide angle 4X. They are a little hard to work on, but I have never had any reason for take-down other than a good cleaning.
