I have the 144 Belarus motor thats in the 500-520,s . Bought new and delivered on a skid. We bolted a Berkely irrigation pump to it and use it for irrigation. It is easy on fuel but hard to bleed the air outof the fuel system (I use a 250 gal. fuel tank on wheels which has to be disconnected frequently every time we move to another pumping site)Air seems to get trapped in the fuel system and bleedig seems to chase the air around in cirles. It end s up running rough (not firing on all cylinders till it clears its self) also the 144 has a big stroke and has a lot of vibration at hi RPMs. I love the air cooled aspect of it , never have to worry about coolant. Thats my 2 cents.

I have a '93 model 570 Belarus w/cab. Very noisey cab and the air/con is not worth turning on. Good pulling tractor, easy on fuel, but weird to drive. The wiring is a mess had to rewire mine before I could crank it. The reusable oil filter is great. Wish all my other tractors had that type of filter. Parts are difficult to find and then you pay big $$.
Would I buy another one? If I could find one at a garage sale, maybe.

I have a Belarus 825 4WD. There are only 2 things good I can say about it. It is easy on fuel and it starts good. I have 1500hrs on mine and the 4wd has been rebuilt 2X and it is out now. If you use a tractor hard it will not hold up. I use mine for a lot of loader work and my Kubota"s are much better. If you are only doing light work they are cheap on fuel and usually inexpensive to buy.

I have a 820 that sitting. If you check the yahoo groups, you will find a couple of pretty active Belarus groups there.

Here's the two of them. I don't know how to activate the links, but copying and pasteing shouldn't be hard:
