Hi Guys We plan to visit this event in summer 2008 and just wondered what the big attractions will be? What should we nor miss? Will there be things of interest for my wife to see or is it all tractor related. We go to the Great Dorset Steam Fair in England (500 or 600acres) and that takes a couple of days with lots for everyone to see. Good evening entertainment also with 100 or s steamers running all lite up and lots of music. Just a great time. Vintage and classic tractor pulling as well. Pickering Steam Fair similar but not quite so big. By the way where does everyone stay when they visit. Doesent seem to be much BB on the net to chose from. Are there any bone yards I should take in while in the area?
Thanks
Bill

I agree with Maark that you would enjoy the show at Rollag, Minneasota. Plenty for the wife to see and it will take you a couple days if you want to see everything there A lot of steam operated equipment including the largest upright steam engine. Lots of gas stuff also.

I assume from previous posts that the Thresherman's Reunion in reference is the one in Austin, Manitoba. It includes: a large parade (2 hours) of tractors from steam to present day, threshing demonstrations, sawmilling, tractor and vintage equipment display, vintage cars and trucks,a pioneer village, beer garden, Clydesdale horse show, arts and crafts display and rodeo. The A/C display and Fort La Reine museum in nearby Portage La Prairie are must sees. Any of the few B and B's in the area would have been booked up months ago. Many people stay (camp) on site in 5th wheels and campers and even tents. Hotel accomodation is readily available at Portage La Prairie from the east or Brandon from the west. You can't begin to see all there is at Austin Reunion in one day. Be ready for hot weather.
