got the skid all ready to go tonight. the snow ain't supposed to come until 2morow after noon but i need the skid to push chopperboxes in the shed and a few gravity boxes. supposed to be 6-12 inches of the stuff comin' tomorrow and sunday.guess it's time to pack the sheds again!i should run up to my parents to se if dad's got the 706 not buried. hope ya'll in the midwest are ready. first snowfall in a few years that ain't wet and heavy! everyone ready?

Travelling home today from my sons in KY. We're supposed to get rain/freezing tonight. I feel the shop calling me after church tomorrow. Just nicely getting started on my next project, 1937 unstyled JD B.

think i'll pass on the snow this year. 1/4 inch of ice forcast for today. I'll take the rain, but you can keep the snow up north

They were predicting snow then 1/4-1/2" of ice here in SE Iowa but so far we've just got a nice coating of ice. I got the IH #80 snow blower out this week and finished my chisel plowing about 11:00 last night.

They're calling for a mixture of freezing rain, snow and then to rain here in NE MD and SE PA.

New skid plugged in, blower and loader on the 544D( plugged in a new can of ether. Bought the wife a new shovel. Just need the snow to hold off until noon, then let her fly. I pray there is no ice and every ones power stay's on.

I spent the little part of Friday I had working on the barn cleaner. I pulled apart 2 corner wheel assemblies and pressed a new bushing in 1, the other one has a few chunks busted out and I didn't have the right size bushing for it so the new plastic wheel went in. Pressed new pins in the bases too. We've got an extra base, and we had an extra wheel untill today.... Was gonna try to do a 3rd one this weekend but I can't now because we don't have an extra wheel with a good bushing to put in it and I ain't going back to work until Monday.

Thing that really sucks about the 2 we got left are that they are both outside- in the nice frigid temps. The 2 I worked on today were both inside and right next to each other.

I made the pins myself, and I ordered the bushings from McMaster-Carr. Only about $7.50/each vs. around $20 from the Badger dealer. Corse now we'll have more than a couple extra bushings if the one is shot and we gotta buy a new wheel. $110 for cast iron and about $175 for plastic. Gotta see how the new plastic one holds up before getting more but I think it'll do just fine. Can bore it out once the bore is junk and press a new bushing in that one too.

I also gotta finish putting the weatherbrakes on the 165 and 285. The one for the 165 is a NOS MF one made by Femco. Custom fit, and still has the MF logo on the side just like the old one for our 285. I got the main part mounted, just gotta install the doors yet. Not putting the windshield on that one because it's got the loader on it and we gotta fit under the barn cleaner slide yet. Tire chains can wait for now...

Hey Gang, I got the chains,front blade and back blade on my Ford 2000, and just in "CASE"- I put two new batterys in my Case 350 dozer. Let it Snow,Let it Snow,Let it SNOW!!!!!

Here in SE MN it sounds like its going to be mostlly sleet and freezing rain. Forcasting 1/2 inch or so of glaze ice, just hope the power stays on!

Come on people I remember when I moved from Indiana and had 18 inches of snow the day we lefted. Now before you all have something to say, last weekend upthere they had sleet and snow I was there helping cousin move stuff. I still remember pushing snow drifts up to the hood of my truck. Am I moving back there.Yes. January 1 2008.

Raining and 55 degrees here today... supposed to get down in the 40s tonight... probably won't get any sympathy from you guys, though. third party image

I do not miss the wind chill, snow, and general cold of SW ND that I lived through the first 22 years of my life!

steven; That is why we sold out and moved to the south of NM not too far from the Rio Grande. Dont have to shovel no snow,cut no firewood or get up and check cows on a cold snowy night. We moved from central NE.

Here just east of the mountains, supposed to go over us. Eastern Colo, Kansas border supposed to get inch of ice and then 3 inches snow on top. Warning for truckers tonight for I 76 and I 70. Skiers happy.

That is what I spent my day doing packed the sheds and barn full of equipment and getting ready for winter. Cleaned up my shop today brought my winter projects in. Pretty soon in a couple of days I will be rebuilding my Oliver 1555 and putting on a new loader on and painting it to I suppose and getting new tires also. Also I have another skid loader to add to my collection today a guy called me and asked if I could take a look at his skid loaders today. One was a Gehl 4400 and another Gehl 4600. He wants the 4400 engine rebuilt and wants it painted and replace anything that is worn. Then I asked about the 4600 he said a guy at work give that to him for free it runs poor and has a couple of leaks and needs new tires. I asked if he would sell it to me and said I could have it for free. So now I got a 5640, 4240, 4600, and a 3300 all Gehl’s. So washed both skids up today and but them in the shop with the 1555. I am in the act of looking up parts tonight for the 4400 and 4600 then off to the dealer tomorrow to order and get parts. May have the 4600 running good tomorrow also get new tires tomorrow and so much other things too. So I’m ready for snow and cold weather.

yeah. BTDT. i got done milkin' this morning and started to pack one shed with chopperboxes and sone gravity boxes. found out good a skid steer really works for backing up 4 wheeled wagons. then i moved the combine and my dozer around. i only need the dozer in the winter to clean underneath the barn cleaner chute on warm days . but i'm ready now. it was a different story last night.
have a good one and stay warm.

Here in eastern Nebr. supposed to have freezing rain and sleet, changing to snow. The jeeps are ready, phone is charged, so I can call in to work tomorrow. Brought extra firewood inside, be filling the buckets soon, in case power goes down. Will be checking the kerosene lamps too. No cattle, so will take tomorrow as it comes,,, down. John

Just finished putting loader on 706 and chains. seams you drag your feet until the last minute and than get ready real fast when the snow is hitting you in the face. Forcasting 6 to 8 here in south central Mn. start tonight and continue through tomorrow. Be safe. The Flying Belgian.
