I"m looking at a 2745 with 24 speed powershift tranny....The owner says he was driving it and it had low hyd. pressure which caused a bearing to seize in the tranny....It will start if the clutch is pushed in , but when its released I"m pretty sure he claims it will stall...Anyone have experience with these? Is the tranny sharing compartments with components that would also have damage? Parts pricey? Any help is greatly appreciated! Steve

What jogl said. Also, go to the MF board and search for more info(besides here). I had a 2805 for about 7 years. Unless you enjoy sticking a sharp stick in your eye and have a large shop to repair, I"d run away, fast.

My answers to your questions are:

1) Not yet, but I would like to get some experience on these trannies. I always have my eye open for a 27 series with the 24 speed out of it.

2) Yes

3) Folks say that the parts are pricey. There has actually been a fair amount written on this board about the 24 speeds. A lot of people don't like them, but we like our 2705. What I have read here more than once is that as soon as the tranny starts acting up shut the tractor off. Apparently it is usually seals and O rings that go first causing clutches to slip and start working against each other. Too late for the tractor that you are looking at.

Search around this board a little for better info.

Good luck,
JP.

Oops, I thought this was the MF board.

That's where the 27 series tranny has been discussed.

JP.
