I'm 40 and not made of money either, lol. My daily driver is a 1995 Dodge Intrepid. Great car for a big man, automatic, good gas mileage, cruise and tilt. I bought it for my ex in 1996 with 28,000 miles. She didnt like it, wanted a NEW car. Sold it to my dad for my mom to drive in 2001. She totalled it twice and he bought it back and fixed it both times. I borrowed it right after Katrina went through and diesel got high. He got a newer Cadillac so he gave it to me, told me he had more than got his money back. Its sitting in the garage now with 228,000 and change, origional engine and transmission. Needs paint since the last total the body shop didnt prep it right but runs great. Mechanically all its had is routine stuff (brakes, tires, battery, etc) plus an A/C compressor at 160,000. Uses right at a quart of oil between changes, same as the day I bought it. You can sink a boat load of money in a truck, in purchase price and then in gas. Unless you really need one every day as opposed to borrowing one or paying someones gas to help you Id get a car. Lots cheaper to own, keep up, and feed. When it finally gives up the ghost I'll get another car, save the truck for when I need it.
