I have a 1996 Ford F 350 with an AM/FM Cassette player that needs to be replaced. I have factory speakers in the doors. I was thinking of replacing it with an origional equipment manufacturer Ford AM/FM CD player because I want to keep my truck looking origional if possible. Where can I get a new/ remanufactured Ford CD player? Would I have to change any wireing? If I can't get an OEM Ford AM/FM CD player, what aftermarket one will fit in the dash like the origional, look good, require not much wire changing and will work good too? Thanks!!

There are kits available to install after-market radios. Most of those radios available will fit the Ford. Kits come with different face plates and mounts to slide into the existing opening securely. Also if after-market look for a wiring kit. Plugs into the trucks audio wiring fitting (which you pulled out of the existing radio) and then is fitted to the radio of choice. For the Ford player you shouldn't have to change any wiring unless you are adding some speakers somewhere else. As others said look at some salvage yard. Oh and may want to get the Ford radio removal tool. Although metal coat hangers can be used in a pinch.

Ask at the Ford dealership who does their radio work. Often they will have take out radios they will sell reasonably. I bought one that way for my service van. Factory Ford 6CD in dash changer for $200. Great radio and looked stock because it was.
1996 might be a stretch but worth asking. Ebay is another choice but watch out for the used CD players. They do NOT travel well.Like omaha greg said wrecking yard is a good idea too

I had a 97 dodge van without a cassette player-didn't have many cds at the time-and wanted a factory one. (This also gave me 4 speaker option, instead of 2). Got one from local salvage yard. Had my electronic guru check it out-first one did not work. Salvage yard got me another one without extra charge. Worked as long as I needed it too! Greg
