Thanks for the video. It brings back old times for me, too. I started when I was about 14 one summer when Dad had back trouble. We had a 1939 JD B. No power lift, but JD did have what I consider to be the best hand lift arrangement. Springs on each gang, an over center spring on the master lever, and you just hit the lever top to unlock the lever. It was still a lot to do at the end of the field.

Thanks for the memorys, played it through twice. Spent many of hours on a JD 60 with a two row and no umbrella or radio, just a water jug. Get to the end and stand on the brake and turn around and go back on the same row you just came down on.

I get to plow several patches of sweet corn each summer with either the B with pneumatic lift and of course the umbrella. Some times i use the A set for two 30in rows with same set-up. The B FARMALL will do two 30in rows by using the offset shanks on the inside.

Hoo, boy THAT brings back some memories!

Seems like I spent half my teen years on a '49 JD-B with a 4 row mounted cultivator. First time over at half-throttle in 2nd gear with shields may be the most boring thing I've ever done on a tractor.
