Hey Larry, Old is probably recouperating from our long phone conversation...LOL

What the individual is referring to is a Deerborne cord saw. Rich and I was just talking about that saw just before we finished our long winded talk. I'll see if I can post a picture of it tomorrow. Or maybe see if I can find picture another person posted awhile back..

Here's a youtube video of a similar saw in use. I think this one is an MF but is patterned after the same idea as the Dearborn unit.

We had one for our A back in the 40's and I used it to cut up our old apple trees and sold the wood for a dollar a cord. I was in my teens then. now I think about it, that really was a dangerous piece of equipment. Some safety featurs should be added to any such items Henry

Ive used cord wood saws since the mid 50s.No more dangerous than a chain saw.The cordwood saw stays put. doesnt kick back at you.I use a shaft drive saw on my tractor.I saw up in the woods and pick up the sawed wood with a trailer. The new saws are well guarded. With a properly sharpened blade the cordwood saw can beat a chain saw.
