I survived! The blizzard that was predicted failed to arrive, but the wind was nasty,35 to 45 mph. Made it safely to her parents house, and all her family made it. Oldest daughter even drove down from Chi-town, met bride and approved of her. Turns out, her dad has a few Farmall's he is partial to, so we got to talk tractors for a while before all her relatives showed up. The JP backed out because of the weather, but they found a Methodist minister that said he would perform the ceremony, and a Catholic priest stood by and blessed them, too. We are Baptist, they're Catholic, married by a Methodist. I think we covered most of the bases. Afterwords, the minister saw my Oliver hat with the coats and wanted to know who it belonged to and I said I was the guilty party. He grew up on a farm and his dad had a super88 and he wanted a hat, so I gave him a web address. Tried to pay him for services rendered, He said he didn't charge members of his church for weddings, since we didn't belong to his church, he said I should put whatever I was going to pay him in my church's collection plate Sunday. Wedding went off without a hitch, her dad got feeling bad and had to have a shot of something right before the ministers got there but then he held up pretty good the rest of the night. We got a new daughter and they got a new son and everyone was happy. Wish we could have got to know them better before he got so bad. I wish them the best, and my prayers go out for them to have a happy life. Chris
