Can anyone give me a ballbark price for a 1962 Ford 801 powermaster. Engine needs to be rebuilt, block is good. body in great shape, new tires. painted 1 year ago. Found this one for a project but don"t know a fair price.

Looks like it must be the 841. I really appreciate it.

A lot depends on which model 801 it is. If its the one with a 5 speed and live PTO its worth more then one with an SOS transmission. Also things like if its an 841 with sherman combo transmission make it worth more. Low for one that runs is around $1000 and high is around $4000

Can't that would make it an 841 which has a 4 speed but no live PTO. Only ones that had live PTO are the ones with the SOS and the 861 which has a 5 speed. Also the only one that can have a sherman is the 841.

Now your getting over my head. Is there a way to look at the serial # to see what model it is? I have some pictures but I cant't get them to attach.

Yes and no. The way that works is the model number is above the serial number. Those numbers are on the left hand side as your sitting on it. Theres a flat spot just below the battery that will have numbers sort of like this. 841
XCVBN
The top number is the model number and in my example its an 841. Which by the way I own one of.

I'll check it in a day or so. I know the spot that your talking about. I think that if I can get it for $700 - $800 that would a fair price. Thanks for all the help. Just looking for a project.
