Well, here I go again,I purchased a Belarus 250 AS a short while back, and thought I was doing a good thing when I started replacing filters, well one thing I didn,t know at the time was I was supposed to mark the oil filter in some way before I took it off , needless to say I did not do this, so I guess it will be out of balance ,so how do I balance this filter the way it should be, they say experience is the best teacher, thanks in advance for any and all information regarding this subject..

Should be marked from the factory from new, right at the base, however, they are not all marked. If that is the case, bother none, most owners don"t know that they are marked for balance, and I had been working on them for years in England before we got hold of a U.S.A. instruction manual and found out that way. Just pay attention to the large "O" ring at the bottom, if that gives out you will loose oil pressure, so be sure it"s in good order.

i"m a little confused, although i don"t have a Belarus my neighbour owns several, and they all have a centrifugal type filter, to clean it you remove the bowl and clean off the crap that is stuck to it, he generally uses a scraper and then some gas or varsol to remove the last of the residue, the the bowl is replaced, i don"t remember anything having to be replace a certain way. But tomorrow i"ll ask him just to be sure. The bowl on the filter doesn"t move, just the spinner inside that turns (fast).
