A friend has a 16-30 Oil Pull Rumley that has been in their family since new. It is leaking coolant oil into the cumbustion chamber and produces a lot of white smoke when he is running it. He replaced the head gasket and the problem persists. Are there any other seals or gaskets that could be letting the cooling oil in the cylinder?

Thanks for any info.
Ted

All I can think of besides the gaskets will be a crack in the head or cylinder wall. Hope it is not one of those. Does the smoke shoot out every time it fires, or just when one cylinder fires. If he is running kero in it while it is still cool, it will smoke some.

Hi Philip,

Thanks for the reply. If you could provide me with Ron's phone number we can contact him to talk about the problem. One person suggested that there could be a leak in one of the tubes that comes in contact with the exhaust system. I don't know anything about these tractors but have agreed to help a friend keep his running.

Oil Pull tractors ran the exhaust thru the cooling tower that is filled with oil, perhaps one of the tubes is rotted and allowing oil to leak down. Just an idea , all I know about them is what I have read.

Here are 2 web sites for Rumley Oil Pull tractors.
Send them an email on your problem. I'm sure they can help. I never saw one of these tractors
here in the East until I saw one at a tractor show in PA. It was brought in by rail. Another tractor way ahead of its time. Hal
