I have the oppurtunity to buy a 10 foot Woods 121 mower for 3400. First is this a good deal? It is less than three years old and looks good. Also it is about 100 miles away from me. Could I pull this home or should I trailer it. IT has the big tires on the back and I can lock up the wheel. Trailering it would require taking off the hitch and the back wheel bar etc. Just looking for some opinions.

I am so ticked at woods for putting out a mower that is sooooo ooooo hard to figure out the belt lay out. Can some one tell me the belt layout of in other words..... how the belt is to go on a RM600.

Does it have a wing that folds up? My woods has airplane tires rated for over 100 mph. It also has suspension. You can pull it down the road with no problem. It pulls very nice.

If it has big tires on the back it should be no problem to tow it. My John Deere dealer towed my new corn planter 25 miles right down a state highway to get it out to me and it's a LOT wider than 10 feet! He said they deliver most machinery that way. As far as towing it that distance, I put 10 miles on my mower every time I cut along my roads and a lot more when I cut my marshes back in the fall. Just grease up the bearings.

Wood's mowers are about the best you can buy. I'm not sure what a unit like this costs new, but I would suspect that at 3 years old and if it has not been mis-used $3,400 is fair market value. I would look it over real close though.
Myself, I wouldn't try to pull any impliment not designed for over the road transport for more than 10 miles. First today's roads beat the snot out of anything without a suspension. second is the width, in Pa it's 8' max without wide load permits why invite trouble. Third if God forbid something were to go wrong and an accident involving others were to happen, legal trouble could haunt you the rest of your life. A trailer that you know is fully licensed, insured and road worthy is very cost effective peace of mind.
Who knows, when you get there you might find something else that's real neat (and have room for) for a hundred bucks.

Remember its over 10ft wide so you better check your laws for moving a piece behind a pick-up thats over width take back roads ect could be a costly move.
