Went to Bro-in-laws yesterday and he is putting together a big trailer type 4 cyl. air compreser . There is what for a lack of better term a limit switch that screws into a oil filled part that is bolted to the back of the eng. It screws into a 1/4 " pipe thread , it`s round about the size of a 50 cent piece and and 3/4" thick and has 2 wires to it . When the oil gets above about 240 degs. it kicks out and shuts things down . His is bad and cant find one . He`s checked the indutrial houses etc. around with no luck . Need a web site with these type of parts . Thanks

Tell him to give Davidson Sales a call, they handle a full line of Nason switches. The way these types of switches are made he"ll need to get it designed to open on a rising temp, at the right temp, etc as well as possibly with the proper wire connection. Whatever he needs he should be able to "custom" order from them.

might try Cat or Cummins websites. Their engines are used in all kinds of stationary applications where a high oil temp shut down may be used. If they have such a switch you can probably adapt it. Also there are som etrucks with oil temp indicators, whoever makes them may make one with a switch included. Good luck,
Paul
