He sure had easy, non-controversial questions. They had to have screened the calls to that money-grubber. Costs for the catalog, costs to get in, golf carts for rent, buyer's premium, on and on and on....

He is a disgrace.

Its kinda funny that there were no callers who would ask a question like what are you going to make sure that this mess doesn't get potential buyers mixed up in Auman's lawsuit with the widow? I haven't been keeping up with the news, did they pay off Aumann? Any other news on this front? I think the whole thing last night was ocular BS.

Must be something wrong with me----I watched the program and recorded it. I thought it was well done. What was wrong with it being on RFD regardless of who paid for it. If a person doesn't like the program, watch something you do like.

I must admit that I have never done any business with Kruse and don't know anyone in the organization.

The buyer fee is controversial, if I go, I will bid accordingly, 10% lower than I normally would.

I did have a chance to visit with Gary, the owner shortly before his passing, he obviously was very sucessful at what he did. The bottom line is it doesn't matter much anymore, does it.

I didn't let it interupt my watching a rerun of Country Fried Home Videos. I flipped over there and watched Max sell himself out during the commercials a few times. Kept waiting for real questions from callers. All I heard was a few lap dog collectors.

kruse look like a snake in the grass and for what the show cost to be put on rfd you are paying for it in your fees he never look at the tv he look away from the tv and dance aruond every thing by saying am not sure he must be pay his 25 poeple good money like he said 1.4 mil for the last 3mo of work there

You can bet your bottom dollar the rest of the autioneering world within a 1500 mile radius of this auction, meaning auctioneers and auctioneer wannabees, are watching this play out with an eye towards either totally co-opting this format for their own uses or critically disecting it and hoping to find some andvantage to it/from it for their own purposes. Look for some form of it to crop up in your neck of the woods/flatland. It is a fluild and dynamic portion of the farm economy, the auction (witness the livestock autions via the internet), as heartless and distasteful as it can be at times, and we might well see it(the process) become more well used in the days ahead. Do not take this as some kind of complimentary post on the subject. Kruse has decidedly taken it upon himself to give the auction world a black eye and is going to be quite successful in the attempt. It is indeed a very sad comentary on Gary"s passing. From not an autioneer or wannabee.

I don't know, most successful auction companies in this area and up through western Kansas and Nebraska are a pretty close bunch, mostly multi-generation outfits...From what I've talked to them they are disgusted that what Kruse is doing is associated with auctioneers...

I know of one auction house that charges a bidder's commission in this area, and he's not very popular for anything but junk auctions (clean out your garage consignment type sales) because he doesn't get much for crowds or prices...I don't see anybody in this area doing what Kruse is doing anytime soon...especially the part about conducting a sale when another auction company had a contract to do it.

I'll bet Kruse will regret taking the sale, IF they make money (think of the advertising dollars spent so far) it will be from the cover charge...and they are planning on 9,000 people. Sorry, ain't gonna happen.

On a side note, I wonder what they are going to do with the no-sale stuff and the stuff people buy and leave when they can't get it loaded?

For some reason people go ape$h!+ and bid well beyond what any reasonable person would bid for stuff - makes Ebay look cheap. They now have an exclusive contract with the state of Kansas selling surplus and Dept of Revenue seizures. 10% buyer's commission and the seller's commission ranges from 10% to 25% for items under a $1000. About the only thing they don't do is charge admission.

Everyone that has a mind has an opinion but it seems that a lot of the opinions are based on hear say rather than facts. I for one do not have an opinion on this auction because I don't know the facts. I don't like buyers premiums but have attended Toy auctions out east in NJ that charged them. Kruse sells antique and classic cars for a week over labor day in Auburn Indiana each year and have thousands attend. They do the same over Memorial day but I am not sure how many days. Several cars will go over a million dollars every year. Buyers and sellers from all over the world will be the auctions as well as some movie and singing stars. Kruse auction park is one large place and is getting larger with the museum on the West side of I 69. They have a school for auctioneers and I don't see them going any where other that up.

Hey Dick Give me a call I can give a first hand experience of how big a crook kruse really is. How about knowing there is a bad sell from an item sold. The two individuals try to settle it privately, and the fat man comes up asks what the problem is, offers the original buyer $5000.00 for the $3100.00 tractor he just bought to resell it. Then his brother runs up the bid to $17,000 the next time!! Got screwed about three time in a matter of 5 minutes!! I lost a lot of respect for RFD-TV, Max Armstrong and the whole outfit. It is called "the almight dollar" I personally liked the question about if there were any 1/64th scale tractor being sold!!! Answer: they will be sold in lots of 25!! Heck, there will be full scale tractors being sold in lots of 25 and Polk will buy them all!! (He didn't sell his business for the fun of it!!)

Buck what is the problem? don't you have the money to bid? I know I don't but I can watch those car auctions 10 hours a day. I live close enough to Auburn, In. (Kruse Auction) I usually go every labor day weekend for 1 day. Some very nice cars there and some that aren't at the top of the ladder like they should be, that is why they have a reserve bid if the seller wants to. Now the one in Arizona Barrett-Jackson in January those cars are all sold with no reserve. His people inspect those vehicles to make sure they meet the companies specifications. I would like to go out there once. But since I probably won't I watch it on tv, that is my choice.
