Any tractor sales people out there. My question is with tractors how do you find the msrp to know how good or bad the price is. What is the profit margin? Is it similar to a new auto?

In contrast to the other post THERE is a very good book. FIRST of all is is published every 3 month and it is published by regions. So you can get very up to date prices for sales of units less than 15 years old.As a dealer what I like is the prices are listed as follows:
Average Wholesale, trade rough, trade premium resal;e cash and retail advertised.. thes figures are gained from reported sales and auctions ect.
BOOK IS IRON SOLUTIONS US OFFICE 636/343-8000

it depends on area, who you are buying from, and condition. A tractor in this area, with rotted off tires, an honest seller, and no parts will go for less then its value in scrap so the buyer can make a profit.

It also depends on the people, someone may need money and get all they can from a tractor, someone elce may sell a tractor to a restorer for next to nothing if he wants it to have a good home and wants the money to go to the restoration.

It is not like auto sales. All you can do is see what prices tractors sell for in your area, and get the price of a tractor from the seller and decide for yourself.
