What is the essex tri directional? Some fictionous tractor created by some bored people?
I shouldn't be asking but must know. I'm so confused about this whole thing. I would also like to come out of this unconfused.

So let me get this straight. Someone put a BS story on the site and Kim had to ban the entire topic because the rest of you couldn't stop acting like 2 year olds/gossiping old ladies/salesmen.

Yep, that about sums it up, Paul. And I think I speak for us all when I say I'm really glad you weren't hangin' around this board at the time. And probably wouldn't be crestfallen if you weren't hanging around now.

Now go ahead with your earthshaking question about what weight oil to use in your Farmall M rearend, and several of us will try to give well reasoned and solemn answers.

By the way, "The Ronny and Nancy Show" was funnier.

sooner or later the truth shall be heard. and w/ todays high cost of fuel let uis not forget the etd's incredible fuel efficiency rate of 134%. yes that's right folks; the darn thing acctualy generated fuel as it was used. If you didn't stop every 7 and 1/4 hrs and draw of 63 gallons of fuel(what type we were never told...???) the fuel tank would begin spewing over onto the ground.
I heard twas a conspiracy w/ the big oil companies did bring the end to ETD productionc

As you can see, the ETD was primarily a semi-competitive creative writing exercise. The hush-hush is because Kim, purveyor of our beloved board (and the tractor guys' sweetheart, I might add), banned us from further activity on that subject, after that thread virtually co-opted the board. From time to time, it is mentioned again (in appropriate context, of course), followed by several cautions.

Kim, this is not an attempt to revive the verboten subject- but is for historical context only. Some assembly required, your results may vary. And Clem and Grove r, how ya been??? Jake still doing the pineapples?

I ain't heard from ole Grove r but Clem got married up with a retired gal who had worked over at the Bunny Ranch over in Nevada. Them that's seen him say he looks real relaxed. I sold out the pineapple farm and I work as an inspector of nude beaches for the UN. Yup, should have done this years ago. They say that a couple of Essex Quad-Directions was built and at least one was spotted around Regina. d

Yes it's a fictional tractor that can supposedly do anything.

The fact that I've never seen one doesn't make it fictional; I've never seen the wind, but I believe that it exists..... ..... .

..and in the late 1960's and early70's Massey Ferguson got into the snowmobile business building their trade name "Ski Whizz" machines and there is rumour that they actually built a tri directional snowmobile prototype, they had a lot of problems with the drive as three centifical clutches were difficult to govern. I have a number of Ski Whizz machines and parts, some literature on their tri directional prototype. Most of my machines are 1972 and 1973 models, two restored, three restorable and 3 for parts including an MF Chinook.

That is classified information. Given out on a strictly need to know basis. A lot of blood has been shed to keep this secret. If we tell ya, we would have to do a Vulcan mind meld to erase your memory of it.

Awww, what the heck, you seem like a good kid. I'll let you in on it, but just you, nobody else! Keep this under your hat, don't spread it around.

Remember, you will now be part of the conspiracy. Whenever somebody talks about "them", they are refering to you too.

Here is a link, remember this is just for you.
