Does anyone have a couple of 6.50 x 16 tires for sale? I need a couple for a firewood cart I'm welding for my son. I'll pick up anywhere in Indiana or Eastern Illinois. Front tractor tires of that size would be fine. Any tread would work. The treads don't even have to match. Just need to hold air and/or take a tube. Don't need to be perfect -- just be serviceable. Anyone have anything like that? Would appreciate any help. (I posted this on the classified section on YT and didn't get a response so I thought I'd try here. I've indicated my e-mail address on this post. Hope to hear from you. Thanks.

Pat.

if those 225's are too wide, and this thing ain't gonna be pulled down the road , take a look at full-size car temporary spares- most are on 16: steelies now and you can these for nada....owners toss 'em at tire stores when the convert to a full size spare.

I've been making a lot of two-wheeled muck cars with temp spare tires/wheels and they work great.
Also- try the dump. Our landfill has a dumpster for loose tires and you can find some usable stuff for free there.

Thanks for the tip. I figured there was a comparable size in modern tires but wasn"t sure they would fit the narrow rims I have off of an old hay wagon.

I went to the local tire shop and picked up this pair of tires for free.
They are 8 ply off a chevy 1 ton dually which is a little narrower than a 3/4 ton tire.
It costs tire shops $5-6 bucks apiece to get rid of them so they were glad to give them to me.
I always mount my own tractor tires.

Yep and those tires will not pop on thorns as easy as the 3 rib baloons either.
