That"s nice of you. I have to remember to check mine regularly this time of year. I"ll remove any nest until it has eggs in it.

Now, I know sometimes nice doesn"t put food on the table so if you just have to use it. I"ll tell you a true story that might help you out. The contractor building my folks new house had a bobcat that he used every few days on the site. One day my mother saw a bird (I forget what kind) fly from it into the trees and then later go back to it. She got curious and looked to find the mother had built a nest deep inside an opening in the loader arm back where it attached to the machine and their were babies in there. Those babies were getting ridden around and rocked back and forth as the bobcat was used and didn"t seem to care. The contractor would park it on the same end of the house each day but not really in the same spot but the birds didn"t mind. My mother told the contractor who sighed and said I wish you hadn"t told me that cause I have move that bobcat to another job site tomorrow. So my mother talked to a wildlife rehabilitator about raising the babies if we could get them out. She said oh, there"s no need if you get them out put up a bird box in that area and put them in it with as best a nest as you can make. Their parents will find them. We were suspicious but managed with salad tongs and a long spoon to fish the babies out of their nesting space. They were about 1/2 grown, with some feathers. We put a bird box on a pole about 20" away and put some of their nesting material in the bottom and put them in it. Sure enough their parents found them and raised them there. All made it to leaving the nest on their own.

P.S. We taped over the holes on the bobcat with duct tape to prevent any future nesting there.

I missed seeing a nest one time and after using my Super A for a few minutes got off and step away with it idling. I turned around to see flames under the hood. I wasn"t sure if to approach it to turn it off or not but did and backed off till the smoke stopped. I found a nest on top the exhaust manifold. No eggs or babies thankfully.

While I was away at college Mom found an owl that had fallen out of it's nest. She called the game warden and was told to wire a basket to the tree and put the owl in it. The parents went ahead and fed it. It seems that owls start sitting on the eggs as soon there is one. The babies hatch out over a period of time so they are all different ages. The nest isn't big enough so babies get pushed/fall from the nest. They will end up all over the tree, the parents find them and feed them.

That time of year. Last year around this time, I noticed one on top of the spring shackle on the F-600, needed that truck for the day, so I takes the nest, and parks the F-150 in the same spot and put the nest on the spring shackle, either she did not know the difference, did not care, or just figured it out, still under cover, about the same height.

Our residents are the Barn Swallows. We love to watch them dive bomb in the evenings, and they've probably got somewhere around 10 nests throughout the barn.

Just had it whit washwashed, but we always tell the guy doing it to just be carefull around the nests. Normally they come around this week in may, but they came up a good 2-3 weeks early this season.. Apparantly they didn't watch the weather to see that we're kinda cool. Plenty of mud for making & repairing nests though.

He ay have at one point, but the last several times we've had Brad Sprangers White Washing do it. Reasonably priced and they do a pretty good job.

Some guys would do it and you could tell they skimped.

I agree. I was on a 4-lane divided highway yesterday, and at one of the intersections, everybody was stopped on green to let a mamma duck lead her chicks across the road. People were honking to let the oncoming traffic to be alert and everything. Pretty neat.
