I tried on the MF forum to get an answer to this but after two days I have given up them.
Walt

Been looking at an MF 97 its in pretty fair shape a few digs in the bottom of the fenders but rest is clean needs paint decals and tire. I have the front tires and rear will work for awhile.
Has duals dual hydraulics. Big Engine.
He wants $3500 was going to try $2800 and work up from there.
Does anyone think this is a good buy.
He says it runs good but haven't seen that will take it for a ride before i make offer.
Walt

Remember its a moline tractor under the red paint the fellows on that board will know more. Where i live fellows use them in tractor pulls. At that price it would be a good buy here.

I'd like one of those as well, but.....
A neighbour at one time had three of them, great old workhorses, but if you get serious, you have got to drive it around. They had a habit of chewing up the rear end if they were run hard by bozo drivers, particularly if they were pulling hard in a turn and the driver stamped on the brakes to turn shorter. Munch, munch. Look very closely to see that the heads aren't cracked and try to be there to listen to it from a cold start.
Good luck.
