Struck that with my Fordson when I bought a round baler, the baler had smaller ones which seems to be the trend now so I replaced the larger fittings on the tractor to accomodate the baler. But kept the others ,just in case.

Hey rick, if there's pressure on the lines from the implement (cylinder is holding something up, etc.) it won't go together. So make sure you got your working clothes on, you're in for an oil shower. You have to release the pressure on those lines before you can hook up, and the only quick way I know of is to hold the hose with both hands and slam that hydraulic fitting hard against the steel tongue on the implement. Oil sprays everywhere, makes a big mess. You gotta do that about 5 times before you can push that ball in the fitting with your finger. When you can do that, you can plug your hydraulic hoses in.

I put an empty can on the tongue and slam it into the can- it contains the oil spray, your hands just get a little of the splash. I suppose if you wanted to get fancy you could attach the can to the tongue so you wouldn't have to get it out of the toolbox every time. . .

The massey should have the old style pioneer type fittings you may need to put a new fitting of that type on the hose end of the mower .make sure you also get the right threads for the hose also .

Are these couplers quick connect/disconnect, are do they lock with the collars? Did you let all the pressure off the cutter lines? I find with the quick connect coupler, sometimes the locking collar inside them will not slip down untill you wiggle the line a little bit. Will make you cuss bad.

You may have to change the tips, Some tractor manufactures used different types of tips. Also try to make sure that the tips are firmley seated in the socket, and work the hyd levers, if they pop out you will need different tips. Seek out your local AGCO dealer and they will have the tip you will need.
