Max Motors in Bulter,Mo is offering a $250 gas card or a gun and most have chosen the gun. Sales have quadrupled so far.

Back in the early '90's when cell phones were still called "car phones" because most of them plugged into the lighter socket, and most cost several hundred dollars, a GM dealer in Merrit Island, Florida offered a free car phone with every demo drive.

People were lined up down the block. What the dealer had actually done was buy a couple hundred "el cheapo" regular telephones shaped like a car for a couple bucks each. They WERE car phones, actually. But that brainstorm backfired bigtime.

There was a car dealer just north of me in Evansville that gave away a benelli super egale with the purchase of a new truck a few years ago. They had a dealer on site to do paper work and they had people lined up out to the street.

I hope the owner/owners of that business become multi millionaires. Nothing is too good for such fine folks. Mr. Bob

Definately take the gun. With the cost of gas going so high it's not gonna be long before we're gonna have to have one to guard our gas tanks....

looked like a Kel-Tek, either .40sw or 9mm.
Very good "pocket" gun, I have the .40, love it.

On the new they showed the gun to be a semi auto small hand gun. They didn't say the brand but they showed one that was very small and could be hid easy

Be nice if the "news" actually covered the story. The dealership only specifies that the certificate goes towards a handgun - the car buyer picks out what they want. If its over $250 the owner picks up the differance.

The sales manager encourages them to buy large capacity semi-automatics. In their mind there is too much crime and not enough bullets.

I can see several law suit potential problems just waiting to happen. What if one of those guns is used in a crime,or someone who gets one is unstable, they will go after the car dealer.
