Can you see the Utah canyonlands in three days (once you are there)?

Will be driving from Iowa and know I can do it in two days to get there, but want to know if three is enough of the big ditches, etc.

Thanks,
Roger in Iowa

back in the good old days, we used to spend a week every year hiking the trails in Zion, by late summer the river has dropped enuf to hike the Narrows, sure want to go back a few times before they start shoveling dirt over me

in 3 days you could drive around a lot and get a look-see and start planning a real visit

Depends what your interests are.I for one can spend countless hours siting and watching the Shadows cross Canyon De Chelley but then I am an Artist at Heart and can do silly stuff such as that. I Paint Land Scapes in Acrylics and Oils so that is my thing for the glorius scenery of the South Western United States. But if you are doing the tourist thing and have limited time I would say that you should first aquire a good Tour Schedule and see if what you want to see in a set time frame is possible. Time and Distance is a limiting factor to enjoyment of our great part of the United States. Set a realistic Itenerary for the time you have available and go for it.You can see Canyon Lands from an Auto in your time frame but will you enjoy it? John from Arizona's High Desert.

Ut. scenery is one of the world's best kept secrets. If you love the Southwest--every shade of rock including dark purple--there's no better place to explore it. Three days is very short, but it's a start. You should take at least one hike: either at Zions or Arches.

My wife and I did a whirlwind tour of 7 national parks in 10 days in 2005 (enroute from California to North Dakota for my hometown centennial). We spent a couple days total in Utah, one at Zion and one at Arches. It's better than never having a chance to see them, but a feller could easily spend months there and never see it all. For Canyonlands NP, two days is probably plenty enough time to see enough to make you want to come back for more. (In case you can't tell, I absolutely loved that red rock area)
